This series of surreal tableaus from artist Karoline Schreiber is a potent odyssey through a subconscious populated with psychically strung-out women with arms for breasts, amorphous balls of sentient spaghetti (or are they raisins?), and masturbatory tree trunks, among other absurdist motifs. Rendered in the smooth grey-scale tonalities of graphite, Schreiber’s illustrations exist in their own dream plane where it makes sense that nothing makes sense.
